Gianna Maria Canale was an Italian actress in European films from 1946 until 1964 : Hercules (1958 – starring Steve Reeves), Les Nuits de Raspoutine (1960), etc.
She is perhaps best known for playing ‘the vampire’ Giselle du Grand in I VAMPIRI (The Devil’s Commandment), directed by het husband Riccardo Freda (1909 – 1999) and Mario Bava in 1957.
I Vampiri was the first Italian made horror film of the sound era.
