ROBERT  FLOREY  (1900 – 1979)  signed (in 1936) c. 3½” x 5½” post card to his Paris friend André Hornez in black fountain pen ink.

Robert Florey was a French director, who went to Hollywood in 1921 and joined Universal Pictures in 1931. He almost directed Universal’s Frankenstein in 1931 (with Bela Lugosi as the Creature !). He DID however direct The Murders in the Rue Morgue (1932 – starring Bela Lugosi), The Face behind the Mask (1941) and The Beast with Five Fingers (1946), both starring Peter Lorre, and many other films and tv-series.

André Hornez (1905 – 1989) was a famous French (song-) writer, who wrote the lyrics of ‘C’est si bon’. He was also hired by Paramount Pictures to write screenplays.
